I dreamed I heard my sister was in the hospital and had a baby. But, I didn’t even know she was pregnant! The baby was a boy and when I went see her I remember being concerned about if she went through a difficult birth process. (Background: She does not have any children but is married. I have a 5 month old baby boy; I had a planned c-section... so I did not experience labor).

--Trisha, Age 32, Montgomery, AL, USA

Hi Trisha -

I think you’re thinking about when your sister is going to have a baby, and I think that having babies is on your mind seeing how you are the proud mother of a 5 month old. Congratulations! :-) And then I think the fact that you did not go through labor made you wonder in your own mind about your sister’s delivery. Was it difficult, was it easy?

In this sense your dream is a logical progression of some very rational thoughts and concerns. If you pay attention to your dreams, you will find that many are like this. Dreams represent - in picture form - thoughts feelings and awarenesses that we are having during the day - whether or not we are fully aware of this material in our everyday waking state.
