Have you ever had sex in a dream? It’s great!! I often have very realistic dreams, and most of the time I’m in control of the dream. If you’re in control of the dream you can do whatever you want, and nothing’s better than good sex.

—Gus, Age 19, Tallahassee, FL, USA

Hi Gus—

Thanks for not being shy about sex in your dreams. What you say is true. Lucid dreams are completely free, and you can do whatever you want in them—and that includes having great dream sex. (A lucid dream is when you know it’s a dream, and then can control what happens.)

One reason why dream sex is powerful is because our bodies are totally relaxed when we are in REM sleep and dreaming—much more relaxed than when we’re awake (and that includes when we’re having great AWAKE sex). What’s the result? When we orgasm, usually it’s ultra intense.

Many lucid dreamers report their dream sex is better than real sex. But dream sex—alas—is a little unreliable. (You never know when you’ll have your next lucid dream). What’s the message? Dreams are good places to practice, but the real world is where you want to find your dream lover.
