I was running and running on a cliff, towards the very edge. And when I reached the end, I jumped off the cliff and I took off.

I was actually flying, well more of floating actually. Below the cliff was a sea. And I was wondering what would happen if I fell, since I cannot swim.

But I wasn’t too worried about that. Perhaps I have a little confidence in my “flying skills.” So I just floated here and there, there and here.

The dream was extremely bizarre to me, and I have been pondering it for weeks so please help....

Hi Anonymous -

It sounds like you’re learning to fly—and you’re doing a good job!

Your dream is a combination between a falling and a flying dream, and it tells us a lot about your personality.

At first you are running alongside a cliff. Cliffs in dreams usually indicate uncertainty about the future (we don’t know where we are going to land, if we fall off). But instead of being afraid of this future, you jump! And you soon realize that, instead of falling, you can fly!

Is there some big change coming up in your life? Are you getting ready to switch schools or go off to college? If so, it looks like you’re ready to go for it—rather than waiting on the sidelines (or peering over the edge...)

What’s the message of this dream? It’s just like you said. You’re feeling pretty confident in your flying skills—which means that you also are feeling pretty confident in yourself. It’s time to “take off” into that uncertain future. Spread your wings!
