I have been engaged to a woman for several years now, and this past week I have had 2 dreams involving another woman that I don't know. There is sexual attraction, but never any sexual interaction. It seems that I wake up just before a sexual encounter may occur, and this week is the first time I've had these dreams. The most recent dream began with friends, and my fiance, driving in a boat across a lake. I was next to them, except not in a boat, but I was Hydro-planing across the water on my stomach going just as fast as they were in the boat. As we approached shore, they disappeared and I came up on a dock and met one of the women in these dreams I've been having. Help me understand...Please.

Dear Cold Feet -
Your dream shows a feeling of separation between you and your fiance. I think it is significant that you are not in the boat with your fiance and your friends as you travel across the lake. The lake most likely is symbolic of the emotional waters you and your fiance share together. Also, that you do not arrive together at the shoreline indicates that you do not anticipate being together in the future - as does the appearance of the other women.
Your dream seems to indicate a continuing hesitation on your part to make a commitment to marriage with your fiance - which already seems to be an issue as you report you have been engaged for several years.
Maybe you just have cold feet - or maybe you should continue to look around for that person with whom you can make a commitment of marriage.
