Bear

Bears often represent people we know with tempers. (Don't disturb a "sleeping bear!") If you live in bear country, dreams about bears can reflect literal anxieties about attacks, especially when bears are foraging, in the fall, prior to hibernation. Other symbolic associations to bears include emotional issues that may be "sleeping" that a dreamer does not want to disturb. Financial concerns (a "bear" market) also may be included. In children's dreams, bears often function as a symbol for common fears, like "monsters." Dreams about mother bears and cubs may reflect desires for children and family. A mother bear who protects her cubs can reflect a mother's drive to shield her children from danger.
